The American population is suffering from a variety of food sensitivities.
Researchers estimate that up to 15 million Americans have food allergies.
Working with a Certified Nutritionist is the first step for many on their
path to optimize health. When you learn to identify the food sensitivities,
you are on the path to achieve wellness.
Beginning in 1996, bacteria, virus and other genes have been artificially inserted to the DNA of soy, corn, cottonseed and canola plants.
These unlabeled genetically modified (GM) foods carry a risk of triggering life-threatening allergic reactions, and evidence collected over the past decade now suggests that they are contributing to higher allergy rates.(1)
Allergy Testing - Food Sensitivities
At Denver Nutrition, I do food sensitivity testing initially with food. Food is by far the reason for an allergic reaction, creating the allergy. Most, but not all, clients show an allergy to one or more foods. For those foods that a client shows allergic reactions to we have them avoid them for a 3 week period, desensitize their immune systems to the foods, supply the patient with missing nutrition, and reintroduce most foods again with no allergic reactions. The allergy testing is non-invasive and is less expensive than lab testing.
However I do offer a variety of lab tests for further testing to verify with lab results. I am happy to help interpret your results with the labs below.
The Labs that I recommend are as follows:
The Dunwoody Labs Dietary Antigen and Environmental Allergen Exposure Profiles are the only test on the market that measures both IgG and immune complexes containing the complement fragment complement (C3d), for multiple food antigens and actually reports it. Random serum samples were measured for dietary allergen specific immunoglobulin using the Dietary Antigen and Environmental Allergen Exposure Profiles.
Our food sensitivity test is different than a conventional allergy test. Allergies create immediate reactions such as swelling or stuffy nose. Food sensitivities create ongoing inflammation that drives chronic symptoms such as fatigue, brain fog and pain. However, we do not always feel all types of inflammation. Inflammation can be a silent player, as it is in heart disease, and will eventually cause different pathologies and conditions. By reducing inflammation with dietary changes, we decrease weight gain and fatigue but also reduce the chances of getting many diseases and even decrease our rate of aging.

ALCAT / Cell Science Systems Corp.
Uncover food and chemical sensitivities with an ALCAT Food Intolerance test. This is one of the most helpful food intolerance tests available that recognizes your cellular reactions to more than 450 different food subtances including food, additives, chemicals, medicinal herbs, molds and pharmaceutical compounds.
The Alcat Test enables you to take advantage of leading technology to create a personalized nutrition plan resulting in benefits that can be seen and felt. The results from the Alcat Test can help determine which foods and other substances may trigger unwanted inflammation and related health issues such as gastrointestinal, metabolic disorders and others.

EnteroLab is a registered and fully accredited clinical laboratory specializing in the analysis of intestinal specimens for food sensitivities (reactions by the immune system to common proteins in the diet) that cause a variety of symptoms and diseases. EnteroLab has developed a unique screening test for gluten sensitivity, as well as for many other antigenic food sensitivities, utilizing stool rather than blood as the testing substrate; the rationale of using stool rather than blood for testing for food sensitivity is that immunologic reactions to proteins in the diet that cause these reactions are centered within the intestinal tract and not in the blood.
Dr Kenneth Fine, Founder of Enterolab and others explain the testing here:
UBiome - Explore Your Microbiome UBiome.com Testing fees range from $89 - $399
The microbes in and on your body include bacteria, which outnumber your own cells 10 to 1.
Microbes perform essential functions such as digesting food and synthesizing vitamins. Studies have also linked the microbiome to human mood and behavior, as well as gut health, human development, and metabolic disorders. As a result, microbiome research has become one of the hottest topics in life science research in the past decade or so. Here are just some of the health conditions that involve our microbes.
Acne, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, asthma, allergies, anxiety, autism, autoimmune diseases, cancer, dental cavities, depression, diabetes, eczema, gastric ulcers, hardening of the arteries, malnutrition, inflammatory bowel diseases and obesity.

Seeds Of Death Movie: Explains the GMO effect on our digestive system
Many ‘hidden’ immune system reactions, can lead to common health conditions such as acne, anxiety, asthma, stomach aches, digestive problems, thyroid disorders, reduced mental acuity, and many others - as noted in this chart on the right.
With a food sensitivity, an immune response causes inflammation of the digestive tract, which can then lead to unwanted particles entering the blood stream causing a myriad of potential symptoms.
